At the end of this activity, students should be able to: – explain the purpose of a graduated cylinder, pipette and burette and describe how they are used – describe how to transfer a liquid from a bottle to a beaker – carry out a temperature measurement and determination of the pH and odour of a liquid – determine the age of rock layers on the basis of the fossils found in them – heat a liquid in a test-tube in a safe way.
