At the end of this activity, students should be able to: – explain how to describe the position of a body and define a frame of reference. – give definitions for path of motion, distance, and displacement. – calculate speed and velocity, and determine the differences and similarities between the concepts. – give examples of units of speed; note this differs form above (speed). – describe average and instantaneous velocities and give examples of each. – graphically determine the vector of resultant velocity.
